Day 2 (30 Nov)

woke up at 6.15am. JUz the same as ytd, i felt as though i was floating around. haha.. We had our breakfast at the Uni canteen. I don't quite like the porridge cause there was only green beans inside. But there were alot of side dishes. We kept eating vegetables cause we were afriad of constipation. so funny..

After our breakfast, we went to our room and packed our stuff as we will be going to Xi'an after touring [Mei Shi International School]. We went for lessons with the local kids. They can recite any poems at anytime. Really pei fu them.. then we tour their hostel. I felt really lucky when i saw that because they had to wash their clothing themselves. They cannot go home everyday to be with their parents and what they do everyday was to study, study and study. After that, a teacher gave us lecture on China's poems. Its a bit sian so i was dozing off halfway through the lesson. I can't really remember what we had for lunch on tht day.

But we proceed to the airport and went Xi'an. I was quite shocked when i reach the airport there because there were alot of teachers and even reporters present. Maybe we were the first batch of students who represent s'pore to go for exchange programmes. The weather in Xi'an was even colder than chengdu. My dad said the temp was -4 degree so i wore alot of layers. In the end only 4 degree. haha..

We went to [ Xing ming ji hotel] and unpacked our stuff. Once i stepped into the room, i was really amazed at their rooms. Although it was 3 stars hotel, i felt tht it was 5 stars. It was really grand and i was comfortable with tht. What i thought was maybe we had to share toilet with strangers, no heater and there might even have cockroaches there.

After that, we went to the hotel restaurant and have our dinner. The local tradition is to have at least 3 or 6 cold dishes for guest. We had 6 on tht day and that was alot. The table was full of local dishes and we can't finish it. Our sch had yum seng session, and the ppl there was grinning at what we were doing cause they had never seen this type of things before.
